The Daily Show with Jon Stewart racks up Emmy nominations

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart received four Emmy nominations for the 62nd Emmy Awards this August.

In the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series category, they’re facing competition from The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, Saturday Night Live, and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Interestingly enough, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart has walked away with this award for the past six years.

For Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control for a series, their competing against The Big Bang Theory, Dancing with the Stars, the Late Show with David Letterman and Saturday Night Live.

In the Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Series category, they’re facing The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Five of the past seven years this award was taken home by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Finally, for Outstanding Directing for a Variety, Music or Comedy series, they’re facing much of the same competition with The Colbert Report, the Late Show with David Letterman, Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.
